For nearly 40 years the wines from the Bernaleau Vineyards have known growing success. A true signature that combines finesse and elegance. This success is the result of many years of rigorous work in the vineyard and rigorous choices both in vinification and ageing. The wines from Château de Braude, Château Mongravey and Château Galland offer the wine lover all the typicity and balance of the sumptuous gravely terroirs of the south Medoc. An exceptional terroir, hard work, incredible passion and the desire to share by offering the best possible products are the keys to this success.

Engaged as a member of the Environment Managemnt System of Bordeaux Wine, Bernaleau Vineyards have a HVE3 certification ( Hight Value Environmental performance level 3), since 2017. Preservation of the environment and respect of our terroir have become for many years, an important and necessary value.

Starting from a small vineyard in the Margaux appellation, inherited from his father in 1980, Régis BERNALEAU has expanded his properties to include Chateau de Braude, AOC Haut Medoc, Chateau Galland, AOC Moulis and Chateau Mongravey, AOC Margaux. Nowadays, the 24.5 hectares composing these three estates are divided between 14.5 ha for the Margaux appellation, 8.7ha for the Haut Médoc appellation and 1 hectare for the Moulis appellation.

The vineyard is managed with carefully controlled use of chemical products and always with the highest respect for the vines. Heavy investments have been undertaken. The stainless steel vat room allows for vinification by parcel while thermo- regulation offers total control over temperature during vinification. The air-conditioned cellar, equipped with 450 French oak barrels made by ten different coopers, ensures complexity and quality in the maturing wine.

Since 2000, Karin Bernaleau has used both her talent and her natural ability to communicate to develop both the trade and marketing aspects of the chateaux.

In 2003, our hard work and rigour were rewarded by the classification of Château Mongravey and Chateau de Braude as Crus Bourgeois at the time of the historical revision of the classification of the Médoc’s Crus Bourgeois. In 2009, Jérôme Bernaleau, Régis’ youngest son, joined the estate and now uses his technical expertise to continue to improve the wine’s quality. In 2011, he took over 1 hectare of vines in Moulis and created Château Galland on one of the most promising terroirs of the appellation.
